Review on πŸ”© Pennzoil Quart Fluid Transfer Pump by Dan Bobbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A handy tool for the DIY enthusiast

This pump was purchased to service the transmission on my 4WD car. Not much room to easily tip liter bottles to change the fluid in a car's differentials and transmissions. This tool made my experience easier, although it required some muscle building. The pump was designed for gallon bottles, although you can also find a liter bottle with a larger opening. Mine fit snugly in a gallon bottle of Amsoil so it was used for this service. I poured gear oil into this bottle and pumped from the bottle into the differential and gearbox. Although the tool worked well, there are some downsides worth mentioning. I noticed that there were very small leaks at the ends of the clear tubing. (The zip ties used on the pipe ends are a joke and regular hose clamps could be an improvement). To pump a liter of liquid, you need to pump that handle about 25 times (hence the muscle building). with a nasty chemical from China that requires the use of gloves. However, it saved me a lot of time when servicing the transmission.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
