I liked the design of this toaster. It's attractive and easy to use. But the bread we toasted (thinly) the most wasn't even toasted. Anywhere from dark on one side to light on the other, too bright to burn. We stood between this toaster and another Breville on the fence, like we had for a long time. We sent this one back and ordered a new Breville. Breville has a different design (more like this one, in fact I'm willing to bet it's made by the same Chinese manufacturer). Steel, quality in appearance but very similar to this for the most part. This one was attractive too, and if you don't use thin Melba bread you'll be happy with this one and save $100. MHO Skipjack68
