I started out assuming that this is nothing more than a gimmick and that it will actually have little or no impact on my gas mileage. Now don't get me wrong, adjusting the computer settings for a car can affect fuel economy, sometimes a lot if done right; but this unit is issued for every car from 1996 to present. I don't see any way for this to work with a common set of parameters as each vehicle is its own law, even two cars of the same make and model will likely require different settings to achieve the same result. The packaging says fuel economy is 15% better, which would only be about 2mpg for my Silverado; And that's when it really works. My original intention, despite my doubts, was to fill up a few tanks of gas to have an accurate basis for comparison, but for such a cheap unit there was no real reason to spend a few hundred bucks on testing. for an additional 2mpg. I think instead I'll just give it two stars (one star for every mpg I'd get using it and it works) and leave it on the shelf so the wasps have room to build their nest. . I regret that I even bothered to order. I've read some reviews of other devices like this one and some people have reported damage to their computers... maybe that's a lot of nonsense, or maybe it's true... and I decided not to risk it.
