Review on πŸ“Ί GoVideo DVR4300 DVD-VCR Combo: The Ultimate Entertainment Solution by Adam Boudreau

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The DVD portion is adequate, the VCR portion is lousy at best.

Applies to the DVD4400. The DVD works pretty much the same as other DVD players I've owned: nothing to brag about or complain about, except that the remote control buttons (used to fast forward or rewind) are poorly designed. Most of the time you will find that instead of speeding up the DVD, you will jump to the next index point. Max Advance is also slower than other DVDs I've had. The VCR part, on the other hand, is terrible. A new cassette is required and the recording (SP or SLP doesn't matter) is so lousy that the sound is barely audible (shaky and glitchy, like hearing a cassette being played on a portable player with a dead battery). is not a viewable video. I believe these are solid lines and a distorted image, like watching a scrambled channel. The "Fast Play" feature is also significantly slower than any other VCR I've owned, about 10x at best (as opposed to 30x). The only good thing about the VCR is that it can rewind the tape to the beginning fairly quickly (about a minute or so). The picture quality is average. I bought it new so the previous owner couldn't break it. I've also used it with a gold tipped cable so that's not a problem either. I will NOT be buying any product from the GO folks in the future if the rest of their line sucks as this product. Insert your own joke about what the company should have called "GO" or "GO TO OTHERS".

Pros
