Not for pentesters of network products

I rarely write reviews, but I feel the need to review this product so security professionals don't make the same mistake I did. " I have a pair of Alftas that I use for my wireless penetration tests and to be honest they work. However, I've decided to use this version of the AC 1900 for my upcoming wireless penetration test (due to the hype, I heard about it) and sorry for not paying attention to the reviews of others here First of all this thing comes with a CD to install drivers and there is no way to get drivers from the internet, not even from the site Alfa. Seriously? Really, Alfa? That's why I'm asking this question. How many modern laptops already have a CD-ROM, not to mention the majority of people who are going to use this device in virtual machines? In a few Seconds I followed every step I could find on the web (including the de facto aircrack instructions on github) and this bullshit doesn't work t he USB port after I disconnected it from my Kali VM, so even if it's not connected anymore, "lsusb" in -p moderate shows that this device is still connected and any attempt to open a Connecting to another of my Alftas didn't work as the USB port was captured by my previous AC 1900 ParrotOS, mind you. THIS THING DOESN'T WORK ON POTASSIUM OR PARROTS. Unless someone can show how this works on the latest version of Kali.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Minor issues
