Review on Capresso 560 01 Infinity Conical Grinder by Predrag Holman

I've had this grinder for about 11 years now. It changed the taste of coffee a lot, along with the Jura coffee maker I bought around the same time. It's incredibly reliable and does what it says on the tin - grind beans. I think having 11 years speaks volumes about its durability and how it's doing its job which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The coffee is ground continuously without additional heat and it just works. Why didn't I give it the coveted 5th star? It's not easy to clean. If you don't get some things right, you'll lose a lot of coffee and potentially leave behind enough to go bad if you don't clean. If you do just a few things, you can reduce those losses. After grinding the funnel, set the timer to 3 and let it continue. What it does is dump everything in the crusher area into a catch bin via a weird chute. There's almost nothing left. Then tilt it slightly when you're done to dump everything from the chute into the catch bin. After doing this, you may end up with a measure or two of ground coffee instead of half a glass. Another oddity is that if you remove the trap container, the trap container will generate an electrical charge and the ground will fly all over the place. So tap on it before deleting it to make it smaller. Another oddity is that the hopper also vibrates slightly while you grind, so sometimes you have to hold it while you grind, otherwise some soil will be left on that hopper. After all, after all this time, many of the painted inscriptions disappear from the device. So he has some quirks (character), he just does what he has to do - just needs to work around some quirks. When I mention the noise level, it's loud enough for me to take to the bathroom to keep quiet so it doesn't wake the kids. I have a quiet house - ambient noise measures 33 dB. When I run the grinder it peaks at 92dB and averages at 88dB. Hope this is helpful.
