So these sheets let me go without the big plastic laundry tub, but one of the ingredients in the sheets themselves is polyvinyl alcohol, a "soluble plastic" made from petroleum. It is not biodegradable, so microplastics end up in our waters, bodies and oceans anyway. Fragments of semi-synthetic and synthetic fibers, including "unidentified polyvinyls very similar to polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl chloride -- PVA and PVC" have been found in crustaceans studied in the deep parts of our ocean -- down to 10,890 meters. These plates contain no plastic and are not environmentally friendly. :(
