Defective Part - Shock Absorber

This air spring exploded on my first test ride after installation. I have been working on my Audis and VWs for many years and I follow the manufacturer's instructions very closely. Easy installation but I am assuming the part is defective. Now I'm worried about another one I installed, I don't trust it.
