Overall shape looks good and the visor, chin strap and rear adjuster work well. The overall quality is a cheap feel. It looks more like a toy as the plastic is hard and flimsy and the clasp and inner plastic are cheap. I've never fallen off a bike or hit my head, but I believe this helmet will hold up and protect your bowler hat. Fit on the big rounded side and small gaps on the upper sides and especially on the back of the head. It's also low and the back of the helmet sits low on the back of the head, but I think it should protect him. It doesn't quite fit my big head, but I can still ride it and don't notice the shape after riding for a while. You can also wear a hat to fill in the extra space or replace the inner padding with thicker pads if needed. Oh, and that helmet scratches easily.
