I have used this carrier several times with both kittens in it. Enough space. One kitten weighs 5 pounds and the other weighs 3.8 pounds. The kittens are very comfortable in it, but what's even better, they won't run away when they see it coming out. I find that their ability to see outside makes them calmer than the old tough porters. Just one caveat - you can't use it for air travel. But I bought it for car travel and it works great for that. (PS - I'm 70 years old and the carrier is very comfortable with kittens in it.)
