Bought for a 5 year old who thought it was the best thing in the world. The bag itself is made of a rigid, inelastic plastic material that will not stretch. The seams are stitched well enough to withstand their very light strain without tearing them up in a kindergarten classroom. I wish I could say the same about the zipper. First, the "handle" of the main pocket zipper broke off and I replaced it with the front bag handle .Then the front bag handle broke.also replaced with a keychain. Then the zipper on the front pocket stopped ripping, it would just join a fight a five year old couldn't handle. The main pocket zipper started unraveling towards the end, but we added hand stitching and that solved the problem for the rest of the year (well, until the pandemic closed schools). She still loves looking at the bag.
