Nice! 95% amazing.

Overall this light is AMAZING. It's very bright, has excellent performance and a very solid construction. Some things I like: - Excellent brightness - Looks very sleek and the all-metal body feels very solid - The mounting bracket is amazing. Not flimsy plastic, it fits a variety of pen sizes and hardly shakes the light although it's very easy to remove - the light-sensing feature works well and is very cool - I love that the backlight is rechargeable too. What I didn't like: The rubber flap covering the charging port felt too small, left it open most of the time and didn't fit into the port. However, I fixed this easily by putting some strips of tape on the inside edge of the connector to hold it in place. I also have to thank the designers of this product for placing the connector on the bottom of the lantern. Basically, even if the port was unlocked, rainwater still wouldn't get in - for some reason, every time it gets lighter/darker, there's this slow lightening/darkening transition and not an instant light? This might just be a conscious choice by the manufacturer as LEDs are used and the strobe function works as usual. While I think it looks cool, I personally don't really like it as sometimes you want the light to come on immediately instead of waiting for it to get brighter. You have to go through all the lighting options to turn the lights back off. This means that if you have the light at its brightest setting, you have to press FIVE times to turn it off. I personally hate this because how often does anyone actually use a flash? I'm almost always interested in either the brightest lighting mode or off. I've seen better implementations on other lights. On a flashlight in particular, the button was programmed to only let you cycle through modes for the first few seconds after you turned it on, and then any clicks after that would turn it off no matter what mode you were in. I personally think such a system would make a lot more sense than forcing the user to toggle through modes every time "since".

  • Headlight
Cons
  • Not bad
