Tape the window!
Just a fair warning. Wear gloves and safety glasses when removing the old mirror. Also, I don't recommend hitting an old mirror with a hammer, as the instructions say. That only made it harder to remove the tiny bits where the hammer head hit. Take a screwdriver and start prying. APPLY TAPE to the window seal, parts of the mirror being removed may catch in the window seal and scratch the window when lowered. An easy and fairly quick DIY project. The distance is the longest and most difficult part.
