Having been an avid baker for over 40 years I have purchased countless hand mixers. I love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, but I prefer to use a hand mixer for basic mixing. Over the years I've bought countless cheap and expensive hand mixers. My last three hand mixers have always been Cuisinart branded, but over time they all had to be replaced at some point after so much use. This time I decided to try a different brand and based on all the positive reviews and ratings of the powerful motor I chose this blender. It arrived yesterday and I immediately tried the buttercream frosting, starting with three sticks of cold margarine. I wasn't impressed at all with the mixer's performance as it could barely handle three sticks at the highest settings. I then tried the "Turbo" button, which didn't increase performance at all. After adding the powdered sugar and heavy cream and mixing to the right consistency, I tried again to see what that "turbo" button was doing to the lighter batter and again nothing came out. Then when I tried to push the clubs out I had to push really hard for the button to work. After using it for cookie dough I was still unimpressed by the performance and the unfriendly eject button. If it was a cheap blender I would think I got what I paid for but at this price I'm giving it back. It doesn't handle thick dough at all, and there are better options out there.
