Review on πŸŽƒ Enchanting Melodies: Wood Trick Halloween Wooden Music Box by Andre Young

Awesome crafts for Halloween or any time of year!

I've made a lot of these wood sets so this isn't a new endeavor for me. However, this is my first music box and it works very well. Here are some tips for beginners: 1) This brand of kit uses wooden sticks (toothpicks) for a lot of the joints and you have to cut a lot of them in half. Using pliers or a sprue cutter instead of a utility knife makes the job MUCH easier and allows you to cut the sticks flush with the other parts, making the finished product more attractive. Trust me you will want a pair. 2) I recommend you use a medium grit sandpaper, there will be a few pieces moving close together and they tend to snag unless sanded a bit (a spinning disk is the first thing that comes to mind comes to mind). 3) There are some VERY fragile parts with complicated laser cutting (especially the tree/haunted house panels). I recommend that you score the tiny connections on the outlines very lightly with a sharp Xacto blade and lift the entire sprue slightly with some kind of card. blanks and use something like a pencil (the side with the eraser) to press lightly on the edges of the parts until they pop out of the sprue (the process is similar to cutting glass). Fortunately, there are multiple copies of more fragile parts in the set. And finally: 4) An unpainted finished product will look good because the very fine micro-engraved details give it character, but I think painting makes it even better. I would recommend using fine tipped brushes and slightly thinned acrylic paint so it's thick enough to cover but thin enough to show the laser engraved details! Follow the instructions, beautiful sounding music mechanism and amazing light function. I recommend! Also batteries are not included, you need 2.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
