Review on 🌡️ BTMETER BT-1800 Non Contact Pyrometer: High Temperature Infrared Thermometer Gun for Metal Melting Furnace, Forge, Kiln -58°F to 3272°F (Not Accurate for Human Temp) by Steve Quinn

Revainrating 3 out of 5

After 999 degrees, zero must be added to the readings.

Instructions are not complete, there are no instructions to tell the user that after 999 degrees Fahrenheit the display only shows 3 digits not four. In other words, the value 112 is actually 1120 degrees. It took us several hours to figure it out and a useless, expensive phone call to China. Also in the review you ask questions about the accuracy, how can anyone confirm the accuracy. The instruction manual is poorly written. I really think the instrument could be a good buy if it is really accurate and a fourth digit is added to the reading. Review updated November 25, 2019 BTMeter has been working hard to fix the issues mentioned in my original review. After learning how to read the meter, I also found it to be a very useful tool. It is used to measure the internal temperature of gas furnaces ranging from 1000 to 2600 degrees Fahrenheit. Switching from degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius is as easy as pressing a button. While I still can't report on the accuracy, the numbers generated are useful. provides a direct four-digit reading, I would give the device five stars.
