Zonon.ZonOFF πŸ‘Ž for brake parts

Put them in a perfectly working Shimano M375 mechanical caliper, new Azurtek rotor. Everything is set up correctly (not a beginner - I've been racing, riding and towing bikes professionally since 1992). Installed easily and correctly, everything seems fine. After a short run-in and inspection, it can be clearly seen that the linings are barely touching half of the rotor (Fig. 1). Upon careful inspection of each pad set, it was found that the uneven placement of the pad material on the backing plates is the main problem - the tolerances varied from pad to pad within 1-3mm (photo 2 left, another brand on the right). Install another brand, make sure the rotor is seated properly. The rotor has an ideal diameter of 160mm. The only other thing I can think of to achieve this extreme pad misalignment on a rotor is that the mounting hole and other manufacturing specs are not within tolerance. It's not safe to ride an e-bike at 40 km/h! One positive thing I can say is that they seemed quiet. But it's not very good if they don't match the specs.

Pros
  • Brake parts
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
