When I spend over $140 on a heavily advertised router, I expect it to last over two years. My satellite had a major network outage last night and I lost my internet. Without knowing this at first, I did a normal modem and router reboot and figured that was the problem. When the ISP was restored this morning the R6300 was not working so I made numerous restart attempts. Vain. I then tried a factory reset and followed the instructions. The only problem is that my power light was blinking and I couldn't fix anything. And connecting the router directly to the iMac with an Ethernet cable did not help to restore the factory settings. I took it to a computer repair shop and they couldn't fix it either. He contacted Netgear for me and they confirmed that the router was broken beyond repair. And that is installed with the latest firmware. Netgear informed him that three weeks after the firmware update, many router failures occurred. If this is true then Netgear is bad because they don't cover this with any kind of warranty. If you don't mind spending over $140 every two years, then this router is for you. During work it was great! But it's utterly useless at the bottom of my trash can. Now I'm looking for a better and more reliable router.
