After 15 years and about seven different disc/disc sanders from Black and Decker and Ridgid (flat square, shaped iron, orbital, 5", 6", .) and my 5" Ridgid was starting to spook with some metallic grinding noises (after probably 100 hours of grinding over the years), I needed a new 5" Orbital Disc. I was tempted to get another 5" Ridgid but it had one few cons: a bit bulky, recessed switch, no pistol grip with trigger switch, so I looked at half a dozen other brands in big stores can switch with the grip, the top and the pistol grip. It's also lighter, making it easier to carry over the shoulders and over the head., in combinatio n with trigger switch No more high-speed circular notches like some other grinders. He sucks the dust into his little bag with an average job. a little depth to better stick to a shop vacuum hose. I have to change the hose every few minutes. In my opinion it should be redesigned with a larger diameter tube and a deeper port magazine vacuum adapter. Experience connecting to a shop vacuum cleaner. Aside from the average dust collection and so-so vacuum port, I love it and hope to use it for hours and years.
