System works well when properly installed. It protects the boat's lid from water accumulation. The collected water puts undue stress on the cover, leading to its rupture and failure. Unfortunately, the nylon straps in the Taylor Made retention system wear out over time, causing them to fail. One day you will find that the straps have failed and water has accumulated on the lid, sometimes causing the lid to fail. There is no way of knowing when the belts are about to fail, so I recommend replacing the entire Taylor Made system about once a year. 3 years. My rating would be five stars for system performance and two stars for durability.
