Review on Unleash Your Culinary Power with NuWave PIC Pro: The Ultimate 1800W Induction Cooktop by Kathy Wilking

Revainrating 5 out of 5

BEST induction hob. hands down!

Of course I became interested in one of them when I saw the As Seen video on TV. It sounded amazing. So I opened the website and after a few minutes I was too confused and frustrated to bother. So many surcharges, options, free this and that, but add postage and exorbitant handling and within seconds the purchase has gone from $89 to over $200 (for 2 units, pots, pans, double/triple postage and handling) , you know the game. I declined. Read the reviews - pots and pans are junk anyway. Then I saw the Tramontina cooktop at Sam's Club for $100 including a 6 piece stainless steel cookware set. I bought it. I tried. I took it back The cookware was great, the item is good quality, the controls don't offer adequate temperature control and the fan was noisy. I couldn't even melt the butter without scorching it because the lowest temp was too hot and the highest temp (they claimed 500F) was a measly 300F so the butter didn't even get hot enough to seal the chicken wings roast meat. I returned to NuWave. If you go to their website, the company plays a lot of games, but they make an amazing product! Buy from Revain and you can avoid all this bullshit because it's a quality device! There are several patterns that are confusing. Here is the breakdown: NuWave pic 2 1300W, 10 degree temp control, 6.5" heating surface NuWave pic 2 Gold 1500W, 10 degree temp control, 8" heating surface NuWave pic 2 Pro 1800W, 5 temp control 12" NuWave pic 2 Titanium cooktop ( same as Pro but renamed. Only available from one source, not Revain or NuWave! Weird) All units have the same dimensions: 14.5" long, 12" high, wide and 2.5" high. like many things, but the more precise 5F temperature control is incredibly handy. The Pro/Titanium blocks have such precise control that you can melt chocolate without scorching or scorching!NOT a steamer or anything! They claim this device can boil water in 2 minutes. That's a silly statement, there are too many factors to say - starting water temp, pot width, amount of water, etc. I tried a medium sized pot, 6 cups cold water and it boiled in 4 hours minutes - that's unbelievable pretty impressive! I have a gas stove and it uses at least twice as much. This is an amazing device, you will love it! My only complaint is that when you stop cooking and turn off the power, the fan doesn't keep running to cool the hob. Other PICs do this and it's a really nice feature. NuWave may feel hot/warm for some time before it can be handled and/or put away. Maybe the Titanium++ model will add this feature ;) Hope this helps those looking for a PIC!
