Review on Kenmore LG Washing Machine Door Lock Assembly EBF49827801 Compatible Replacement Part by Andy Quade

I'm generally an "OEM replacement part" kindof guy, be it car panels or appliance switches, but this once I decided to go generic. Feels kindof sketchy, but I'm actually quite pleased with the cost savings.SUPER VALUE: Less than 1/4 the cost of the official $60+s/h LG OEM version. I figure the 7min it took to swap was so minimal, I can but three more for the same cost if this cheap generic module fails.RECOMMENDATION: For my LG Washer, I purchased the $13-$20 retaining ring spring stretcher tool (inverse pliers):https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SH5HVL7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1TOTALLY worth it. The spring was on the BOTTOM 6o'clock position of the outer gasket. Took a little finagling to get the tool to hook but it opened the ring PERFECT EASY PEASY. Only spread it a couple of inches, but it was perfect:WOULD'VE BEEN SUPER IRRITATING TO GET THE TENSION RING OFF AND BACK ON WITHOUT THE TOOL.
