It was great for my project! I read so many reviews where people said it couldn't raise the minute hand or was noisy. First, it's absolutely silent. I put my ear to it and can't hear anything. The second hand is continuous, so there are no clicks from it. Second, I have a feeling that people who have complained about the minute hand not going up probably didn't push it all the way. I really had to squeeze it before I finally felt it click. Can't comment on the battery life yet, but I'm very happy with this purchase so far! It should be noted that there is no hook on the bag. . I was confused as this is in every other watch I've looked at. A cheap $1 adhesive mount from Walmart fixed that, but was still a little disappointing.
