My rack boot broke so I found this replacement boot. I was looking for a way to change shoes without damaging the toe adjustment and I found it. The youtube video you need to look for shows the service technician using a bolt that looks like a funnel part to attach the end of the tie rod, lubricating the funnel and all the metal parts after cleaning them of course, and then put the boot on the shaft. It takes some strength and patience, but it's not difficult to do. Just take your time and let the stem expand over the end of the bolt. I also taped all the metal parts and lubricated them with silicon grease and the boot fitted well. I didn't use the clamps from the kit but bought the correct size clamps and installed them with no problem. The hardest part was removing the tie rod end bolt from the steering arm. I turned the nut over to protect the end of the bolt and hit it a few times with a hammer. If I had to make it again I would buy another nut to use. It was slightly damaged but still drove normally. while it works fine. Definitely better than paying a mechanic $200-$300 for the required alignment.
