I have had a car phone mount (identical to Vansky Gooseneck Car Charger Holder Cradle Mount) for 4 years. It still works great except for the sticky rubber coating syndrome. After about 30 minutes with the alcohol (on the mountain, not in me - although that may have helped) I gave up. It was too difficult to clean all those cracks. I drive a 2013 CMax Energi with 12v in the console area, just below the shift knob and in front of the cup holders. My previous owner was fine once the car was back in D. In R, the holder got in the way. When I first attached it, the phone clip had no space. After some fiddling and twisting (it's a gooseneck if you're a dense bird) I found the perfect position to avoid the tightness. Unfortunately, since this area is small, the length of the holder does not reach the optimal height. It works for me because I like the grip of the phone (so far) and again as long as the charging feature works. A minimal phone clip provides access to the fingerprint reader on the back. The power and volume buttons (Pixel 3a) are also accessible. I had to return another phone holder because the grip was too snug for my arthritic hands. I suspect the button mechanism is no longer working, but if it lasts 2 years I'll be happy. I agree with Ms. Kitty (and possibly others) who mentioned the extreme tightness of the device in a 12V socket. It's REALLY tight. I would just leave it there, except that something seems to be happening to my car after leaving the items plugged in (it's not a circuit, AFAIR). A 5 star product for me. I have mentioned some (in my opinion) downsides, but they don't make me really like this mount. It is durable, highly adjustable and offers charging. EDIT: I bought this a year ago - it still works fine except I got some phone jacks about 6 months ago. I tried using this holder but it didn't really work with the case and popsocket. Looking at the back of this device, I found that it's even more adjustable than I thought it would be. I easily removed the "insides" and placed a pop socket ring on top. Legs and arms got in the way. This also worked very well.
