It took me a while to finally get one of these things to hold my phone while driving. That's what I decided to do and it's been working great so far. I've only had it for a few days so time will tell how good it really is. My only concern is that the weight of this item in combination with my Note 8 seems to weigh on the cigarette lighter in my GMC Sierra. I'll let you know how it works while I'm happy.

I had trouble finding a good phone mount because my dashboard didn't leave me room and I didn't want it on the glass. But the new law required that I no longer keep it in the center.
