Review on Honeywell 52 Inch Tropical Ceiling Outdoor by Julie Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what you need for a gentle breeze

Honeywell Palm Island has many things to recommend. It is certified for outdoor use. That is beautiful. It comes up quickly and easily. He is calm. What about complaints that it doesn't move much air? It would be killer if it were true. When I first turned mine on, I had the same reaction as some of the others here. The morning was cool and calm and I should have felt a serious chill underneath, but I didn't. Oh no! Then I steamed it, paying attention to the blades and their direction of rotation. No wonder! They lifted the air. I pushed the side switch down and turned the fan back on. Oh! Doesn't matter! Not a breath of air, mind you. Ceiling fans never do that in my experience. But a nice, gentle, cool breeze is just what I want to sit by on the porch on a hot, still afternoon. I gave the fan four stars because I believe the high speed of a four speed fan is a little higher - or the blades are designed to move a little more, allowing for lower speeds for less cooling. But for my own use and anticipation, I think that one concern really won't turn out to be one. And fan quietness is probably a key part of that design constraint. All in all, my first impressions are very positive and I recommend this device. Now for that first really hot day of summer.
