Do not recommend this fan if you want a real fan

Do not recommend this fan if you want a real fan. Bought 2 of these and put them right back in after installing and at top speed there is very little airflow. So disappointed as they look amazing. My mistake was that I should have read the comments before buying.

  • Dope 🔥

Looks Good But DOES NOT AIR MOVE

Looks nice but THE AIR IS NOT MOVING. I can't believe Honeywell didn't test them before selling them! How can you build a fan that doesn't push air out?! Check out my video review. I took the thinnest piece of plastic wrap out of the packaging and placed it under the fan to show that there was NO air movement!

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!

This fan is such a disappointment!

This fan is such a disappointment! Looks great but doesn't work like a FAN! Why make a so-called fan that doesn't work like a fan. I strongly advise against buying this fan. I have 3 Hunter fans at home that really move the air and look inviting. I wanted a palm leaf for my porch screen and had to spend more money to get something that actually works!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Great fan for the money!

This is an amazing $100 fan! It moves as much air as any of the 30+ fans I've installed in my life. When the wings are tilted and rotated in the right direction, they move air! Plus, it's super quiet and perfectly balanced right out of the box! I didn't give it 5 stars because it's not UL listed and has very small wire gauges. If I had known that before I bought it, I wouldn't have bought it. Too bad I didn't check the UL listing first.

Great optics and good air circulation. Beware of user error

We needed a modern fan for our bedroom that could keep the breeze out at night. We liked the look of this fan, but were concerned by reviews that said this fan couldn't move air - we needed more function than form. Assuming the negative reviews were user error, we gave it a try - and we're glad we did. This fan definitely moves air. I noticed that this fan comes with a rotary switch in the up position, which means it pushes the air up toward the ceiling. The switch must be in the down position…

Beautiful fan - not the easiest of blades to put together

We bought 4 fans for our new home - all in a similar palm leaf style. Some from Honeywell, some from another brand. Of the 4 fans, this one was the most difficult to assemble. I'm not sure if the engineer ever put this thing together. The blades require you to install a rubber grommet between the paddle's metal mount and the blade itself, and push the screws all the way through the top of the blade. It would be a lot easier if the screws were fixed in holes so they wouldn't fall out when you…

It moves air! in Lighting & Ceiling Fans

Ignore reviews that say this fan doesn't move enough air. I'm a retired engineer and I can attest that no fan with such a large square inch fan blade could possibly move a good amount of air at that angle. As suggested by other reviews, if you really want to "feel the breeze", don't forget to flip the directional switch down so the fan blows down. Ironically, I replaced the Hunter brand fan in my outdoor patio with this fan simply because the Hunter was NOT moving enough air. I've always been a

Just what you need for a gentle breeze

Honeywell Palm Island has many things to recommend. It is certified for outdoor use. That is beautiful. It comes up quickly and easily. He is calm. What about complaints that it doesn't move much air? It would be killer if it were true. When I first turned mine on, I had the same reaction as some of the others here. The morning was cool and calm and I should have felt a serious chill underneath, but I didn't. Oh no! Then I steamed it, paying attention to the blades and their direction of…

  • New to my collection

Oh my god! There is a lot of incomplete information in these reviews from obvious experts. By and large, most reviewers who talk about air movement focus on the direction of rotation of the blades for some reason. Since a fan is basically a pump, it's not sure why the direction of rotation affects the amount of air it can move. In any case, I believe this fan will achieve its rated airflow (3500 cfm) at maximum speed, assuming you use the included rod, which is about 4 inches in diameter. If…
