Review on Honeywell 52 Inch Tropical Ceiling Outdoor by Kim Fukushima

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfectly balanced and quiet. USE THE BOTTOM ROD IF YOU WANT TO MOVE THE AIR!

Oh my god! There is a lot of incomplete information in these reviews from obvious experts. By and large, most reviewers who talk about air movement focus on the direction of rotation of the blades for some reason. Since a fan is basically a pump, it's not sure why the direction of rotation affects the amount of air it can move. In any case, I believe this fan will achieve its rated airflow (3500 cfm) at maximum speed, assuming you use the included rod, which is about 4 inches in diameter. If you flush mount the fan you will not get rated flow, potentially preventing head injury but blocking the rear of the fan. I give this fan 5 stars. It's perfectly balanced and quiet out of the box. The direction actually corresponds to the direction of air movement (not always the case) The wings are all plastic The kit includes a 4 speed switch but the slowest speed is mainly for show There are plenty of extra screws and washers in case you need them get lost. No complaints about the $110 fan. If you're looking for maximum airflow from a 52-inch fan, I'd suggest looking into traditional paddle blades, as this unit sacrifices efficiency for style. The next step will be a more powerful engine, but you will pay for it.
