Review on Dorman 749 468 Driver Window Regulator by Mark Gancio

After installing the first Dorman controller (not shown in the photo) I could not reinitialize the window. With the window fully down, trying to raise it simply triggered the anti-pinch function. So we just didn't lower the glass all the way down. A year later, Dorman collapsed. I got a replacement under warranty (silver in the photos) and installed it and it had the same initialization issue. It broke after a year and a half. I got a replacement again under warranty (black in the photos) and installed it and it had the same initialization issue. The latter has a different design than the previous one, so Dorman may have changed the design or switched suppliers. This did NOT use fine thread screws like the previous Dorman, and I didn't have self-tapping screws, so I had to go to the hardware store to get three #12 x 1" stainless steel screws (pictured sitting on the motor housing) First, I used many other Dorman- Products used, usually with success, but this should be avoided.
