We recently had a fire on our island that killed two and left four other family members hospitalized. Some jumped from a second story window, and children were left to go through their memories and spend their lives without a mother and little sister. Our 40 year old son (who has a 9 year old child) was traumatized just from the photos and the news, and his is the reason we began looking for an escape ladder and bought all new fire alarms. Homes on our island are built a full story above ground, so our top living space is actually 4 stories high. We bought the ladder that will reach from there to the ground, and with it, these hooks.Before purchasing, we researched several models online, and several on ebay, but this one looked the most solid and simple to use. We also purchased the large, over-the-window-sill hooks, and a child harness, both to store with the ladder. Everything arrived extremely quickly, and we are pleased with the apparent quality. As I said in my opening, the best case scenario will be "never to use this", but thanks to its reasonable price and clearly thought out design, we're as prepared as a family can be! We urge you to do the same for your family!
