Review on KYB 565045 MonoMax Gas Shock by Vincent Burton

I fitted them to the front of a '97 Nissan Hardbody (d21). These are great shocks, great value for money. The original shock absorbers were worn and compressed easily, see photo. This Monomax is slightly larger in diameter, the welds look good. The accessories that came with it were of high quality. Installation was easy, the hardest part was compressing, but that's the whole point of a shock. Just use your head and maybe some wire. No more difficult than changing the brakes, for example. So if you're a car enthusiast and only have a basic set of hand tools, you'll be fine. The driving characteristics are very good. I noticed an improvement right away and continued to enjoy the improvement in driving. The right balance between stiffness when running and absorption/rebound on a deeper impact. Handling is restored, no more diving and body roll when braking, cornering. The glossy red color looks great and comes with a separate sticker so you can dress up your toolbox if that's your thing. Just a big shock and I will be buying them for the back too. Nobody paid me anything for this review, I work hard for my money, I bought a shock and this monomax just works.
