Sweet Mother of Pearl! These brackets are the deal! I had to persuade myself to buy them (I'm a world class bargain hunter) and I'm so glad I did! They are very strong, supportive and amazing! I've used them on a real 2x12 and they handled wood and stuff on the shelf with ease!

Used to install shelving throughout the home. They are very simple and modern. We actually sunk them into the drywall so you can see the floating shelves and not the brackets, but I think they looked fine until we drywalled the long part. I will buy more to finish the house.

Definitely not strong enough. These brackets are made to hold a decorative wicker basket, nothing more. Plan on extra brackets if you use them as they flex and I've had entire shelves spilling their contents onto the floor. I chose a different mount for the rest of my project.

I used two of these 12" brackets to install a 14" deep, 24" wide, and 10lb shelf. Even with no weight on the shelf, these mounts have an unacceptable amount of flex. It's crazy how weak and fragile they seem.

I've looked everywhere for shelf brackets to use when building a climbing wall/play area for our 3 cats. I bought 6 of these kits and made a whole play wall out of reclaimed wood from my carpentry shop. They come with matching screws so you can't see them in brackets. Even our largest cat at 20 pounds can walk on it without the shelves sagging. Exactly what I needed.

They are very heavy, strong and strong and I recommend only inserting them into a wall stud or they may not hold up due to the weight of the mount. I love them so much I bought another set to have more shelves in the bathroom. The brackets in my photo look long because I have a small studio, but they hold my heavy books. They would probably look smaller in a big house with a big living room.

The long screws supplied with the bracket broke after only 6 months. The heads of the screws came loose and the screw shank stayed in the wall. Only 25 pounds or less are regularly withheld. This error caused the brackets to collapse and destroy my wall. I recommend buying higher quality screws separately. Considering these mounts are already cheap and easy to use, buying different screws is only a minor hassle, but a must if you intend to use weights on the mounts.

Bought two sets for my kitchen wall. Installed the first with a beautiful solid cherry wood shelf. The brackets were attached to the studs and everything was securely fastened on the install side. But the shelf was resilient and flexible when tested with light weight. Jumping means that when you pick up something like a plate or cup of it, the shelf visibly jumps a bit. They just aren't strong enough for the weight they claim to be, and they flex when you add weight.
