Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth every penny spent!

I have looked at many of the motorized screen radios listed on Revain and have selected 2 to save to my watch list. This radio was one of them. Despite the fact that the rating was low and there were very few reviews, I decided to buy this model. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 1-1/2 din radio. I couldn't fit a 2 DIN block without major dash modifications. This type of radio was my only option to get NAV, rear view camera and other options in one unit. I also like the fact that it has an Android operating system, which allows me to download additional apps from the web. The device arrived well packaged. The wiring harness wasn't a problem. (All the color coded wires match the wire harness adapter I buy from Revain.) There is a sticker on the radio with a wiring diagram. It didn't take long for me to connect the two halves of the harness adapter together. The radio was installed into the same dash adapter that I used for the single din Sony radio that I replaced. I added rear and front cameras to the block. For them, the radio already has cinch video connections. You must route the trigger cable from the reversing light to activate the reversing camera. There is a core marked for this purpose on the radio wiring harness. When I first turned on the radio, the screen came out and hit the shift knob. This is not a design flaw of the radio. This can be avoided by pulling the shift lever forward before the monitor screen opens. I've learned to do this every time I start the car. When the screen was fully extended, it was resting on the top edge of my dashboard. (The motor kept pushing because it wasn't fully open) To solve this without damaging the dash, I pushed the radio farther away from the bezel adapter until it was at the end of the black plastic basilica on the radio. This was enough to fully open the screen without jamming. If you press and hold the OPEN button for a few seconds, the screen will tilt forward one step. Now the screen is no longer on the top edge of the dashboard. Keep in mind that this truck was not designed for this type of radio, so don't blame the radio's design for this fit. As for the functionality of the radio, it's amazing! Image quality is excellent! The size of the monitor is good and big. I tested the NAV system and it works as advertised. The WiFi signal is a little weaker. It would be better if they had a stronger wifi antenna. (maybe something with a direct mounted VS cable). Radio reception is very good. The Bluetooth connection with my cell phone is excellent. When a call comes in, the radio turns off and you can hear the phone through the truck's speaker system. Ideal for answering calls on the go. (Handsfree) You can hear the other person very clearly (better than putting the phone on handsfree). You can also turn up the volume to hear the other person through traffic noise. When I put it in reverse, the radio turns off and the rear camera view appears on the screen. When retracted, the screen will open automatically when reverse gear is engaged. When I switch to the front, the front view camera appears on the screen. I think the radio was designed to help with parallel parking. You can also view the front camera by selecting it from the Android menu. With all the features of this device, I am very happy with my choice. I hope my review will help others when choosing an all in one radio. Five stars from me.
