First, the device does what it's supposed to do. Make sure the device has acclimated to your test environment for the recommended 30 minutes before testing. The instructions are very brief and if you have never used a moisture meter before you can watch some YouTube videos or read some expert instructions for a more complete description of how to use it. [Better education leads to more accurate results.] Final question: There are four (4) modes. The device defaults to Mode 1 when first turned on. You can easily change modes (which are labeled on the back of the device - very handy) but the mode indicator is tiny, located in the bottom right corner of the LCD. And I mean tiny!
