Conks Out Too Soon - Chargers

I have five Black and Decker tools that use a 20 volt battery and this is the charger that came with the tool. After a few years I had to replace a battery that cost more than it should have. One by one the chargers failed. They light up and judging by the image printed on the charger (good luck actually seeing it as it's microscopic and doesn't need to be interpreted in the attached instructions) and from my observation a flashing green light means the Der Battery is charging and a solid green light means it is charged. A blinking red LED indicates that one or the other component is overheating and needs to be serviced. However, each of the chargers showed a flashing red light immediately after the battery was inserted, even though both the charger and the battery were not being used. for several weeks and by no means overheated. Batteries are available at major local hardware stores, but they only carry a larger and more expensive charger. I found and ordered this model here at Revain. Considering I have multiple battery packs and prefer to have them all charged and ready to go, I'll probably order another one. This one worked when plugged in, confirming my suspicion that the others were malfunctioning and not mysteriously overheating. If I had one again I would probably choose a different tool brand with a better battery and charger, but I trusted the Black and Decker brand. So if you've already decided on this brand, this charger works and is cheaper than most. But in my experience they are short lived and need to be replaced. At least this charger can be purchased separately, but it would be nice if a new battery came with the charger. It would be even better if both lasted longer.
