Review on πŸ“· High-Quality Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art DG HSM Lens for Canon, Black, Compact Size (340101) by Ahmad ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend it.

I have two 5dm3 and one 5dm2. Sigma 35 / 1.4 art smeared on all my three full-frame Canons. And I meticulously checked in the store, filmed the text, the table - at an angle of 45 Β° - everything seemed to be fine. At home I realized that smears. I bought an adjustment dock, set it up from a tripod according to the table. It got a little better, but still smeared. It smears unpredictably: either back or front. I do not recommend anyone to buy any sigma, you are tormented. I left this glass because the optical quality is really good, only I now use it as a completely manual one, and mainly with the Sony a7rII. On Canon 5dm3 I use it for video shooting - in this capacity it has no equal, excellent picture, dramatic depth of field at 1.4 For autofocus photos, forget it. The problem of AF operation on Canons is systemic, not isolated. My pictures from this lens are here: https://www. Flickr. Com/photos/ilya_art/albums/72157665841158430

Pros
  • – excellent optical quality: pleasant bokeh, few aberrations, rich colors, a sense of volume. - quite sharp at 1.4 - good design - inexpensive, in terms of value for money one of the best (if you do not look at the poor autofocus) - ideal for manual focus Canon video shooting - the picture quality is better than the first Canon 35L, but worse than the second version Canon 35LII. In terms of autofocus quality, it loses to any Canon lens, not even the L-series. – made in Japan (even caps ^_^)
Cons
  • The main disadvantage, which covers all the pluses, is the terrible, unpredictable autofocus on the Canons.
