Thank you, Teagas. This changes everything.

I have been doing Chinese Brush Painting since 2004, and teaching it since 2017. I'm a knowledgeable teacher but not such a good painter; too impatient and anxious to be at my best. So I've tried the gray, stiff magic paper and thought I liked it till I tried this kind, which allows for great texture and more importantly, does not evaporate right away, which makes it possible to study it for mistakes or to take a photo of it to save and share. The material repels water at first, but in a few seconds, your strokes will appear. This saves money on paper and ink.The olive green, fuzzy material isn't beautiful, but if you take a digital photo, you can modify it with Snagit or Prisma, as shown above. It is easy to use. I timed the above painting of a horse, and it took me under 45 seconds to paint.

Pros
  • Very good
Cons
  • May not provide enough feedback to improve technique
