I can't trust my dog โ€‹โ€‹with this leash - the buckle is too weak.

The smallest looks good until you check the buckle. Good quality fabric, all seams are well finished. But after inspecting the buckle, I decided to order another leash. First, the buckle is oddly designed, with "hooks" sticking out about 1/2 inch on each side. My problem is that I attach the leash to my dog's chest harness. This prevents a certain amount of stretching. I can't do that with those "hooks" on the buckle - they dig into the skin. But my biggest problem is how to attach the buckle to the ring sewn into the fabric. All that stands between my 60kg Amstaff that can pull and the nearest squirrel or deer is a tiny C-ring inserted into a metal rod (steel?) about 5mm in diameter. It's unlikely this thing is strong enough to withstand her next push. I would not recommend this leash to owners of large dogs. And it's sad because I really like the idea of stretching the segment on a leash. Update 08/16/2022: After my first review, the seller got in touch and clarified something. In particular, it was noted that the metal bar connecting the buckle and ring was made from aircraft-grade aluminum and tested to a 400-pound pull force. The seller also suggested that since the "hooks" on the buckle face down, they shouldn't hurt the dog. First, it tells me that the seller supports their product and I respect that. So I'm giving it another star for that. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the seller's opinion on the problems I have described regarding the shape of the buckle. It has to do with how I attach the leash to the dog's harness - it's on the chest. So when it's attached, it's pulled back up and out of the way. The exact direction of the hooks. And while they don't cut through the dog's skin, they still dig into it. If you don't use straps, or at least put them on top, you don't have my problem. As for fastening the buckle - I'm just not ready to experiment. In my case the stakes are high - it's a strong dog who can lunge at other animals, I can't allow that and I find that over time the C-ring can wear down the rod and get out of the way. . I see no problem with this smaller dog leash.
