Put them on a week ago enjoying unseasonably warm sunny days. They worked great! They came around 5pm when it was getting dark and continued working at 2am when I got up to eat something. But then we had a cloudy day. No rain but very gloomy. The light didn't come on. My little solar powered running lights worked, but decorative lights didn't. Then it rained for two days. But today it was sunny and the lanterns were on, so you can leave them out in the rain. These are very small "magic" lights. They appear larger in the product description image. Each light is 1/8 inch (4mm) in diameter. But they are very bright. There are 8 modes and I didn't bother reading the manual to see how to control them, so just toggle through them. pattern and color change.
