Lancers are $7 or $8 more, but they are more versatile and of better quality. The built in night vision hood did not fit my mount and had to be modified by Dremel. Back then the mount wasn't as secure as it should have been and I wouldn't trust it with my $3,000 glasses. The chin strap is uncomfortable after long-term use. Nothing wrong with that, my Lancer just worked right away. Instead I chose to use this helmet with a cheaper NVG Gen 1+ and an epoxy mount directly to the shell. This setup is great for my home security - Pulsar Edge Gen1+ NVG, Howard Leight electronic ears, XYShine 5W zoomable IR flashlight and OSdream helmet counterweight. I'll post a photo when I can, in the camouflage process.
