Review on ๐Ÿšด Sportneer Electromagnetic Smart Bike Trainer with Built-in Speed and Power Sensors, Automatic Resistance Adjustment, Indoor Cycling Stand Compatible with Zwift by Drew Diaz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great value for money for a smart trainer

I was surprised at how much more I like Zwift when the smart trainer adjusts resistance to match the virtual terrain. And I've never ridden with a power meter, and now I see how valuable that meter can be for training. I have no idea how accurate the power meter is and the change in resistance is a bit less than what I expected based on actual experience on steep slopes. It was slightly quieter in operation than my CycleOps fluid trainer and the ride was just as smooth. The trainer is heavy and solid and has worked as expected after the initial issue (read more). Following clear instructions, it was extremely easy to set up and I had no trouble pairing with Zwift on my iPhone. You can experiment with the setting; I thought it was reliable at first, but as I reduced the power the axle mount started to move. The problem went away after I tightened the knobs a few turns on each side. However, you should probably be careful not to overtighten or damage the frame or hub. The good thing is they include a quick release buckle so you don't scratch your main buckle if you have a good one. It would be even better if an adapter for thru axles was included - if you don't have a QR rear wheel, you need an adapter. all but the most serious cyclist. However, I have the following doubts: there is no power button, so you have to unplug it to turn it off. This proved to be problematic as the original power cord with the metal connector plugged into the unit broke when I tried to unplug it. I contacted support and they sent me a new module. Now I unplug the power cord from the power supply instead of disconnecting it from the machine (and I'm very careful). I hope this was an accident and Sportneer support responded quickly. An adapter is required if your bike has a thru-axle instead of quick-releases (thankfully there are inexpensive Revains available). I think if I had had this device before I would have been in better shape. for spring cycling.
