I bought this because the grease on the tailgate of my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee "WJ" failed. The part fits. But I would advise you to try the "plastic toggle". This is the part held by the small black Phillips screw. For some reason, when I installed a Dorman 746-260 in my Jeep, the sunroof would not open fully. Although the window latch would burst. The problem was that the plastic lever just didn't fit in the metal slot attached to the hatch. So I replaced it with a "plastic lever" that I removed from my old power window and locked and unlocked everything. The installation takes about 10 minutes. The parts look the same except for a slight crease I noticed on my old one. I took a picture of the part I removed from the new motor and replaced with my old one.
