My 7 year old daughter is just over 50" and fits 6x and pants 7. I ordered a size 8. Not too big, she can't wear them, just don't fit like leggings. I'm not sure if it's the size or the fit of the pants. I decided to keep her, hoping she would grow up in it. I really liked that they have reinforced knees. My daughter quickly sorts out leggings. When trying them on, she mentioned that the reinforced part of the knee seemed a bit odd to her, but that didn't stop her from wearing them. The reinforcement feels almost like faux leather.
