Ruland does not recommend this product for eating, but does not say so either.
I've found that this gasket emits small glass fibers that I hope I won't inhale. When the sun shines on my wood stove, it sparkles. Glitter are small glass fibers. The installation instructions ask you to wear gloves and safety goggles. now i know why Ruland does not recommend this product for eating, but it doesn't say so on the packaging and customers buy this product for grilling (big green egg). They are unknowingly risking their health.
