FIRST IMPRESSION: Exactly as expected. USE CASE: View film negatives. Problem. The light is bright enough to view my film negatives. The surface is evenly illuminated with no visible screen or pattern at 8x magnification. (See attached photo.) Light quality is very blue; I don't have a color measurement, but it's definitely not a neutral or balanced white. My color managed monitor appears yellow next to this light bar compared to a completely white screen. (The monitor's white point is set to 6500K and calibrated with a Datacolor Spyder 5.) The surface is glossy and smooth with no texture and is very thin overall: about 6 mm. weight is as expected; it doesn't feel too heavy or so light that its durability is questionable.
