I bought these because of the high reviews and because they were advertised as dishwasher safe. As some others have said, they are not stainless steel, just coated with something. I put them in the dishwasher when I get them (one on top and one on the bottom). When opening the dishwasher after a rinse, there was rusty water everywhere. I took a closer look at the racks and found that the coating on both cooling racks was worn off in many places. They are therefore not stainless steel and cannot be washed in the dishwasher.
