I struggled to fill them when I first got them, but here's the method I chose and it works great: Place the tea leaves in a shallow bowl, at least four times as wide as deep than the large one. Then simply open the teapot and place the base in the bowl. Then use your other hand to push in the tea leaves. I've bought glassware with lids that snap open securely and seal with a rubber grommet. Then when I buy my tea leaves, I just pour them into a plate and they seal them tightly inside. Another handy tip: fill the tea infuser and then wrap it in aluminum foil so it's fairly airtight. - a tea lollipop, which you can then use to quickly brew tea whenever you want (after removing the foil, of course).
