I settled on this one after doing some research. WIX is well known for quality filters that work well. I don't normally put mileage on engine air filters, I just check them every few oil changes to check for paint and dirt. If it looks dirty and dark in color I change it. It's almost always well in advance of the recommended 60,000 miles, and I don't live in a particularly dusty area. It's a $20 or $30 service item that will keep your engine running, so I don't see anything special about changing them sooner than you should. These Tacoma V6 air filters are very easy to get and replace, so why not? Maybe next time I'll check out the Toyota brand to see if they're cheaper than the SIX. I haven't done much research on Toyota filters. I don't think you can go wrong with this filter.
