Aside from something really broken, these bad reviews are unfounded. I don't know how to put it more simply. Actually, I looked at the Kodak projector. and stand. and an HDMI converter that you must use, all for around $250. Exquisite. But is it necessary? I already have an old projector that I used to transfer sketches and murals onto big screens because I HATE creating those boring grids. Pooh! I remember, that my son said I cheat because I'm just tracking; until I give him the pencil and the focus of what you draw leaves the canvas at the tip of the pencil and lands on the pencil or your hand. He decided it wasn't a scam after all. I tell this story to illustrate this point. What did they envision they were buying, something to magically transfer an image, like a telepathic printer? Regardless of the source of the projected or reflected image, tracking it this way is not easy. It takes patience and skill. I'll be perfectly honest; After 20 years of tracking projections, this little $8 device works just as well up close and small-scale as a fancy Kodak projector (and my clunky old-school projector, which was cool a few years ago) from afar and beyond. Scale. And here's the kicker with properly aligning the light source in the room. This little $8 gadget will be damn good at reflecting mirror words (or sketches) printed or drawn on paper. You do NOT have to have a backlit phone or device to use it. Buy what you want. This is your money. I'm thrilled with this thing and the fact that I didn't spend more than $200 on shiny junk tech.
